In this example we have
located an open elbow dislocation by
description. After entering the word
"elbow", we selected the Find Classes
button. ICD-9 Tree created a list of elbow
conditions. We then selected the Dislocated,
Open choice from the list. ICD-9 Tree then
located the class and opened the list of
diagnoses, highlighting the class.
The Copy Description
button is always available. The Copy Code and
Copy All buttons are only available when a valid
code is selected. In this case we have selected
a class. Therefore, only the Copy Description
button is available. To select a code for
copying, we would move the cursor to the
appropriate elbow condition. Possibly we may
wish to examine another class first; i.e., is
9271 appropriate for this condition instead?
ICD-9 Tree places it all close at hand. Why code
the old way? The tree makes it all so clear.
ICD-9 Tree.
ICD-9 Tree can also
created a list of matching codes, however the
class search usually yields a result list which
can be navigated more intuitively, with less
chance of overlooking the correct code.
